kinder fun run.
Fundraisers typically elicit a grumble from me. I would rather just donate my money instead of needlessly selecting cookie dough flavors or wrapping paper that I will most likely never use. I want to support Tyler's school, but can someone please invent a better way to raise money?
Much to my excitement, Tyler's elementary school decided to host a fun run. The children had thirty minutes to run a maximum of thirty laps. Tyler received generous donations from his family and was smiling with excitement when we arrived this morning to cheer him on.
A big thank you to Grammie + G'ma + Aunt Amanda + Aunt Sassie. I encouraged Tyler to make the phone calls all by himself (with me coaching on the side) to ask for their pledge or donation. He was a bit shy at first but it meant much more coming from his little mouth.
He ran a total of 19 laps and had a smile on his face the entire time. Tiny feet slapped the pavement as all the kinder boys and girls made their rounds. Lap after lap they each received a tally mark on the back of their fun run shirt to total the amount they ran. Their smiles were contagious and we all left the school in high spirits. Well, except for Benny, but a doughnut helped with that ;)

the tooth fairy is coming.
Three cheers for Tyler! He pulled out his own tooth!
Yes, you heard that right, my sweet little ty ty lost his very first tooth. We are all extremely excited for the tooth fairy to visit.
Just about a month or so ago, Tyler came to show me that his two bottom teeth were lose. Each day he would wiggle them with his tongue. We kept waiting and waiting and today he was determined. His joy was contagious.
Sometimes being a mom is so rad, I love it :)

our week in review.
our week was less than glamorous.
matt went to florida.
benny has been sick with a high fever. all.week.long.
tyler has enough energy to power a small city.
nicholas (for the most part) has been a complete angel.
we have watched a ridiculous amount of cartoons.
played hours of video games.
ate complete rubbish (because that's what you do when your sick).
taken numerous bubble baths.
and I am still sane.
now that's an accomplishment friends.

story time.
Tyler really has proven to be my biggest helper. He loves to be around Nic and help in any way he can. Today he decided to read him a few story books while I knocked out the vacuuming.

first day of preschool 2010.

Tyler started preschool on August 31st, 2010.
He is five years old.
[we held him back from kinder]
So far Tyler loves going to his little class, toting his back pack and lunch box. I love to see his excitement, his ginormous grin.
So far, so good!

the bee.
All Tyler wanted for his birthday was a bumble bee pillow pet.
He talked about it for weeks.
Cried at the mall when he couldn't take it home.
And constantly asked when his birthday party was.
As you can tell from the smile stretched across his face, he was blissfully happy!
Grammie this picture is for you since you didn't get to experience him opening the present.
He loved it and still loves it.
ps. Did I tell you how excited I am for little Nicholas to join our family?
Well, I am.
And I pretty much have a Tyler smile on my face when I think about him kicking around inside me.
Yep, we're all excited!

MIA, birthday & a wish.
I was without my computer for five days.
Five long days.
But thankfully we are once again reunited.
But in those five days I had the pleasure celebrating my Tyler's fifth birthday.
He is handsome.
He is clever.
He is funny.
And he is happy.
He told me that he would still love me even when he was 21. I told him to promise me, promise me that forever.
We celebrated his birthday at the lake. Friends, family and food and lots and lots of fun. Tyler was the perfect petite host and relished being the center of attention. Thank you to all who drove out there to make that day so special for my Ty Ty.
ps. We find out next Monday if we are having a little girl or adding another wild boy to the group.
pps. I always like to ask the boys who is in my tummy. Tonight Tyler told me, "mom, I don't really like girls. I only wished a girl for you. I really want a boy. I only like four girls. Mommy, Grammie, G-ma and Krystina {his babysitter}.

aspiring trash men.
My boys have declared that they want to be trash men.
At the store they love to stand and hold on to the side of the cart.
The groceries they load become "the trash".
Today I found them loading up grocery sacks with more "trash".
I've always told them they can be and do whatever they want.
ha, ha.
